B.A. Blackwell and Associates Ltd conducts landscape level and site level assessments of critical habitat for species and ecosystems at risk. This includes development of GIS based models to map potential habitat based on selected input attributes, as well as field-based surveys of critical habitats.  We have provided consulting services to numerous stakeholders, including large utilities, forest licensees, and the provincial government, for the identification, mapping, and management of species at risk in BC

Ecosystem based management

We provide support for implementation of ecosystem based management (EBM). Our thorough knowledge of coastal BC ecology enables us to conduct meaningful analysis of spatial and aspatial ecological data to assist clients to develop practical strategies to meeting EBM objectives.
