Rob Sandberg

Rob Sandberg has 17 years of experience within the B.C. coastal and interior forest industries. Rob's extensive work experience within the operations of several major licensees has given him the ability to observe the best in forest management and business practices. His main areas of expertise are forest planning/ development, silviculture, and timber cruising.

As a forest planner Rob was involved in forest development planning and responsible for the development of silviculture prescriptions for numerous challenging and constrained sites throughout the Sunshine Coast and northern Vancouver Island. With Weldwood of Canada Ltd., in Quesnel, Rob supervised forest development planning and cutting permit acquisition for T.F.L. 5.

As a silviculturist for International Forest Products Ltd., Rob managed the silviculture activities and obligations within numerous isolated operations throughout the Sunshine Coast T.S.A. He later administered the Timberwest F.R.B.C. silviculture program on T.F.L. 46 and 47. As a silviculture forester with Weldwood, in Quesnel, Rob managed a large and comprehensive silviculture program that was facing the challenges of the cut-to-length harvest system.

As a timber cruiser with Weldwood's coastal operations, Rob was involved with timber appraisals and T.F.L. inventories. He trained and led a crew of timber cruisers in variable call grading and net factoring. This led to better predictions of stand value and volume.
