Deon Louw


Deon joined B.A. Blackwell in 2016 with a background in operational forestry and biology and a Masters of Science in Forest and Conservation Sciences from UBC.  He has experience in silviculture surveying, road and cut block layout, fish stream identification and population sampling.  

Since joining B.A. Blackwell, Deon authored a literature review and study design for MFLNRO on old growth coastal forest regeneration after wildfire.  Additionally, he has assisted with Development Permit Applications in Blackwell’s urban forestry division. 

His MSc research focused on the long-term effects of broadleaf/conifer plantations on forest health.  He is currently working towards attaining his RPBio designation as a professional biologist in the province of British Columbia.
