Louis joined B.A. Blackwell & Associates in July 2013 as a graduate from BCIT’s Sustainable Resource Management program where he was the 2013 Coastal Silviculture Committee award recipient for outstanding achievement in silviculture studies, as well as the 2014 Wayne Cochrane Memorial Award (ABCFP) recipient for student achievement. Previous to his studies at BCIT, Louis completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography at UBC.

Since joining BA Blackwell, Louis' work has focused on forest development planning and layout, forest health aerial and ground surveys, aerial fertilization prescription development and implementation for the purposes of carbon sequestration and timber mitigation, and forest ecology (technical field sampling support for Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping projects). More recently he has been leading a range of wildfire management and risk reduction projects for the provincial government, municipal governments, community forests, and First Nations throughout BC. Louis is a certified Local FireSmart Representative and Registered Professional Forester.
