Matthew Sheilds

​Matt joined B.A. Blackwell in 2017, where his work focuses on forest engineering, mapping, and document preparation.

​Prior to joining Blackwell, Matt completed the Master of Sustainable Forest Management program at the University of British Columbia, where his graduating project considered species conversion as a long-term strategy for reducing the risk of fire to communities in the Arrow Lakes region. Upon graduation he was awarded the inaugural ABCFP Sustainable Forest Management Prize for scholastic ability and leadership potential. Matt previously completed block layout and assisted Site Plan preparation in the Mackenzie Timber Supply Area. Prior to pursuing forestry Matt worked in community heritage and has prepared and delivered historical presentations on the coastal logging industry and BC tenure system.

Matt is currently completing the accreditation process to become a Registered Professional Forester in British Columbia.
